Can I do this?

  • are at least 10 years old
  • have adequate swimming skills
  • and are in good physical health

…then yes, you can enroll in your PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course if you’re less than 15 years old).

No previous scuba diving experience is required, and if you already did your Discover Scuba Dive with The Dive Bus or if you’re already a PADI Scuba Diver, you’ve already started…

What will I do?

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three parts:

  1. Knowledge Development
Learning and understanding the basic principles of scuba diving. We’ll provide you with the eLearning to complete before you arrive in Curacao.
  2. Confined Water Dives
You’ll learn your scuba skills in the protected shallow area of the bay, before heading out to the reef for your Open Water dives.
  3. Open Water Dives
Whilst enjoying the stunning underwater world of Curacao on the beautiful Dive Bus reef, you’ll practice your new-found scuba skills again.

What will I be certified to do?

You’ll receive your e-card certification as soon as your Dive Bus instructor has signed to say you’ve finished the course to prove that you’re a certified PADI Open Water diver.

And as PADI Open Water Diver, you’ll be ready to enjoy some of the other beautiful dive sites on Curacao with The Dive Bus, and qualified to:

  • Plan and make scuba dives down to a maximum of 60ft / 18m with a certified buddy.
  • Obtain air fills, rent or purchase scuba equipment.
  • Take the next step whenever you’re ready to continue your dive adventures, such as diving deeper or diving at night, on your PADI Advanced Open Water.

What are my medical requirements?

Download and check out the Medical Statement to ensure you have no contra-indications for scuba diving and that you’re in reasonable physical health.

Everything clear on your Medical Statement? Do it: book your PADI Open Water diver course with The Dive Bus now! We only take up to 4 people per instructor, so classes fill up quickly…
